Pokémon Go finally gets UK launch

In the UK, people have been getting Pokémon Go via sneaky methods, which means most people can't get their paws on it at all.

That's all changed though, as Pokémon Go has now officially launched in the UK for both Android and iPhones.

Brace yourself to see a lot of people hanging around in weird spots, gawping at their phones while catching cartoons monsters. We'll let you make your own mind up as to whether you think it is fun, or abysmal.

Obviously, the app is available for download right now via the Google Play Store for Android and Apple's App Store for the iPhone.

To play the game, you're going to have to use GPS and mobile data.

The game is free, you'll be glad to know. You'll have to walk around in the real world, with the app open, looking for cartoon monsters and beasts, and you capture them when you see them through the app.

Basically, this is what the gameplay looks like. And yes, 99% of gaming videos are deeply jarring.

Anyway, you're going to see a lot more people dawdling around with their phones and potentially shrieking in excitement while staring at nothing.

Maddening if you're not playing, but for those who have been waiting for the game, it is great news.

Go download Pokemon Go on Google Play for Android, or at the Apple app store.
