Nintendo offer the Mini-NES

Nintendo offer the Mini-NES
15 July 2016

Nintendo are doing rather well with Pokemon Go, and they're hoping to ride the good fortune with the decent looking stocking-filler, the Mini NES.

While Sony and Microsoft are ramping things up with some serious hardware, with the PlayStation 4 Neo and the Xbox One S, Nintendo are keeping things light and breezy.

You'll be able to buy a classic NES console, however, it'll be a dinky version that fits in the palm of your hand, and comes preloaded with 30 classic Nintendo games.

Nintendo say: "The classic NES is back in a familiar-yet-new form as a mini replica of Nintendo's original home console. Plugging directly into a high-definition TV using the included HDMI cable, the console comes complete with 30 NES games built-in, including beloved classics like Super Mario Bros., The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong, PAC-MAN and Kirby's Adventure."

Of course, most old video games are available online via all manner of hooky sites, but this is a nice little gift for yourself or someone else who is into retro gaming.

Nintendo add that "Players needn't worry about losing any hard-earned progress either as each game has multiple suspend points, allowing them to start where they left off at a later time, no passwords needed."

Sadly, it won't connect to the internet and it looks like you won't be able to add anymore games to the mini console.

It goes on sale in November 11, and should cost around £40, which is not too shabby.
