Microsoft "sides with homophobes" over Xbox lesbian ban

26 February 2009

Microsoft are boldly striding towards the 17th Century with regards to its stance on sexuality. Well it's dirty, isn't it, a woman kissing another woman? It's not natural. What they do behind closed doors is all well and good, but anywhere else, well. It's not right, is it?

Consumerist has the story of an Xbox LIVE player called Teresa, who has had her account suspended by Microsoft. Why? What extremes does a person have to go to be be barred from playing computer games? She referred to herself as a lesbian in her profile. Disgusting behaviour, we're sure you'll agree:

I was harassed by several players... they followed me into the games and told all the other players to turn me in because they didn't want to see that crap or their kids to see that crap.

As if Xbox LIVE is really appropriate for kids anyways!

Microsoft does nothing to stop this or prevent it, but instead sides with the homophobes. My account was suspended and Xbox live did nothing to solve this...

When Teresa appealed to Microsoft, she says they told her that other gamers found her sexual orientation "offensive."

They'll be burning the gays next. Wrong'uns, the lot of them.

Folks, we've removed a couple of comments from the thread. The story pokes fun at Microsoft's alleged stance on the matter in question. It's not an opportunity for homophobic slurs and insults. Cheers.

haha , well Im gay or a so called "bender" as someone calls it. Guess what, you do see me going round saying one bad word against hetrosexual people. Its a common fact that if any one has a problem with sexual orientation its because they are not comfortable with their own or they are part of the god squad!! Get with the 21st century!
