Commercial Break: Eric & Ernie's Atari party

It’s ‘Old School TV Stars Looking Slightly Unusual While Advertising Hi-Tech Gizmos Week’ at Bitterwallet this week. Yes, again.

Earlier in the week, we showcased a series of ads starring Tom Baker as Doctor Who, furiously overplugging some bulky computers that were then possibly the last word in futuristic tech-nattiness.

Now, on the occasion of what would have been the 84th birthday of the one with the short, fat, hairy legs, we give you Ernie Wise and Eric Morecambe, furiously plugging an Atari games system, which seems a bit weird to be honest.

It’s only 40 seconds long but it’s got more laughs in it than the average episode of The Kevin Bishop Show. Hopefully, Eric and Ern are now doing sell-out shows up in Heaven, splitting the sides of the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Michael Jackson, Diana, Queen Of Hearts and Hitler.

Fuck, no, Hitler’s not in Heaven is he? Shit, sorry.

Look at those games! Even Ernie's dancing was better than the graphics. Well, no, it wasn't actually.

Which one is Ant, Which one is Dec; I can never tell.

You swine sir! What a blasphemous and disingenuous comment! Ant and Dec are mere talentless TV presenters in comparison. They are simply capable of introducing talent such that was Eric and Ern in a cheeky and endearing manner (to my mum anyway). Morecambe and Wise were in a very different and far superior class altogether. Next time compare the Tyneside twosome to the likes of Mike and Benie Winters if you please.

The thing is, well, Ernie wasn't funny now was he, I know he was supposed to be the straight man but...
