Pret allowing you to give someone a free coffee

18 January 2016

pret_logo_gif Ever wanted to give someone a free coffee? Well, you can do that with Pret, thanks to some initiative they're doing.

Pret gaffer Clive Schlee said, a while back, that his staff were allowed to give free food and drink to customers when they saw fit. He said: "The staff have to give away a certain number of hot drinks and food every week."

"They will decide “I like the person on the bicycle” or “I like the guy in that tie” or “I fancy that girl or that boy”. It means 28% of people have had something free. It’s a nice, different way of doing it."

And now, you customers will be able to do it as well, thanks to the 'Make Someone Smile' promotion. Baristas will randomly choose 120,000 customers, and pop a 'Make Someone Smile' holder on their cup. They'll be encouraged to pass that sleeve onto someone, who can then get themselves a free brew.

Schlee continued: "We often get feedback from customers about how our shop teams have brightened up their day. Our teams love being able to make customers smile, and we hope the recipients of our special coffee sleeves enjoy being able to pass that joy onto somebody else themselves."

Or, you can use it yourself, because you like yourself more than any of those undeserving swine out there. Anyway, if you're really interested in this, you can have a look at Pret's 'Make Someone Smile' t&cs here.
