HotUKDeals Of The Day - Tuesday 19th May

19 May 2009

It’s not been a great 24 hours for scorching hot deals in the retail sector – we think the ombudsmen who are in charge of coming up with them are all away together at some kind of Spring convention.

So while they’re cavorting around in nappies and giant moose heads and chanting at the moon, here’s the best of what we could find from HotUKDeals from the past 24 hours.

While the deals aren't scorching, it’s going to be a long hot summer according to the experts, and if you’re thinking of dying of exhaustion while pedaling around in the blazing midday sun, you could do a lot worse than getting a Specialized Centrum Sport hybrid bike.

It’s reduced by 43% to £199.99 and has all kinds of impressive but incomprehensible jargon attached to it. If a ‘CNC flange and disc mount’ and ‘forged 3D horizontal dropouts’ are important to you, this is what you need.

Next, with the glorious summer still at the forefront of our minds (in fact we’ve been drooling over the thought of it all ever since the Met Office said that it’s actually going to be dangerously hot,) we're dreaming of barbecuing.

To be more precise, the WG2400 2 burner gas barbecue, with side burner - now only £65.26, down from £97.89. Is it big enough to get a whole cow on it? No. Has it got ‘forged 3D horizontal dropouts?’ Sadly not, but it takes two people to assemble it so it’s clearly not for babies or cissies.
You’ll need liquid refreshment with your BBQ, and as beer is said to cause dehydration, we must turn our attention to wine, which essentially is a kind of fruit juice and is more or less classed as an isotonic sports drink.

There’s a selection of some of the finest wines available to humanity (we assume) in a current ‘6 for £19’ offer by one of the leading supermarkets. Take a look at the HUKD page before you buy, as loyalty card and voucher-related trickery could bring the price down even further.

(deals found by toybhoy, millarcat and Besford)

I would hope that the horizontal dropouts are removeable? If not, you're in for a whole new world of hurt, when your rear mech decides to remove itself and go through your rear dished low spoked alloy wheel if so, I would hope for your sake that the frame is butted 6061 aluminium alloy? It's not? Oh dear...

I love the way you shun the bike jargon showing how uninterested you are, what are you interested in, oh it's just below burgers and booze ;)
