HotUKDeals Of The Day - Thursday 21st January

21 January 2010

hukd_logob1 Okay, so it’s the end of the day but we’ve still got a bumper crop of bargains, everything from a cheap meal to an educational poster to a DVD about a failed heavy metal band. And nothing else.

Thanks as ever to the HotUK Dealketeers who bring the savings 34-7.

588644Here’s a hell of a deal for you if you enjoy treating that special someone to an intimate dining experience. It’s even better if you don’t mind that special someone roaring “What the fuck have you brought me to TGI Fridays for!”

You guessed it – it’s a special offer at TGI Fridays – two courses for only £9.99. Stuff available includes chicken, chicken, burgers, cheese, burgers, chicken, cheese and other stuff. Like cheese. And chicken.

589078If you’d prefer to stay in and teach yourself how to play a guitar and you suffer from dull bare walls in your place of dwelling, why not spruce it up and start them there geetar lessons with one of these.

It’s a guitar chords poster and it’s only £2.99. It contains chords used in hits by The Beatles, The Kinks, Kajagoogoo and Limahl. If you like to think of a dictionary as a puzzle containing all the books ever written, then this is almost its musical equivalent.

588732Once you’ve mastered the guitar, why not start up a shit heavy metal band, fail spectacularly for decades only to find your career given a boost by a documentary film about you which highlights how shit your band is but how you’re really nice blokes actually.

That’s what happened to Anvil, and the Spinal-Tap-made-real DVD of the film Anvil: The Story Of Anvil, which you can get for just £3.99. Despite the contempt that might have been apparent in the previous paragraph, it’s a very watchable film and (spoiler) they all die at the end (not a spoiler really, but a nugget of bullshit.) Oh, and as Mark E Smith says, it’s not ‘band,’ it’s ‘group.’

(deals found by HUKD members divado, amibees and cowbutt. Yes, cowbutt.)

Finally, I located the information I was looking for. I have been doing research on this subject, and for two days I keep finding websites that are supposed to have what I'm looking for, only to be disappointed with the lack of what I wanted. I wish I would have located your web-site quicker! I had about 40% of what I needed and your website has that, and the rest of what I needed to complete my research. Thank you and I will report back on how it goes!
