DEAL KLAXON - cardboard coffin with lining for £99

Thanks to avid Bitterwallet reader Bill for tipping us off to this flaming great deal on HotUKDeals - a cardboard coffin with free lining and optional bodybag from the Coffin Company - for just £99.

Bitterwallet - £99 coffinIt's an entirely sensible alternative - not just for the environmental aspect but for the frugal implications - and according to the website:

"They are easily paintable (we are more than happy to do this for you or, if you prefer you can do it yourself).

It is also possible to provide a drape to cover the coffin."

Excellent. As long as your loved one doesn't drop out the bottom if the base gets damp, then we'll have one. This deal is getting plenty of heat of HotUKDeals, so make sure you order yours before [insert cremation-related pun here].

Take a look at the comments of that thread, they are hilarious. I mean that its hilarious in how bad everyone tries to be funny and most of them fail.

@PokeHerPete Yes, but you have to remember that most HUKD forum subscribers are fucking wankers.

Then all you need is a back-street undertaker that is prepared to forgo the paperwork necessary when disposing of a used body, so you don't have to pay for that. I don't see the point of these. They are not Eco-friendly, since the card has to be new and not recycled. If you are being cremated, why not just rent a decent wooden one, then have the corpse removed before burning. Or if being buried, have one with a hidden flap at the bottom, so you can be buried as normal. Then once everyone has chucked their handful of mud on top of you, the undertakers could lift the coffin, you would slide out the flap at the bottom and the coffin could be reused.

I think £100 for a cardboard box seems a little expensive.

It has been removed from HUKD.
