The most irritating things in the modern world
Some researchers have compiled a top 50 list of the things which bother us bloated, spoiled Westerners in our daily lives. We don't have to worry about famine or war because we have to sit on buses and walk behind slow people.
So what's the most annoying things?
Apparently, everything to do with sales gets our collective dander up, with pressure selling getting 65% of the vote from people polled. Spam emails and pushy salespeople were at numbers two and three.
Stacey Stothard of Skipton Building Society, who conducted the study said: "Us Brits have a bit of a reputation when it comes to grumbles. But it's really disheartening that by far the biggest bugbear for Brits today is the feeling of being under pressure to buy something."
''There's something to be said for the good old-fashioned values of listening to people and treating them as individuals - and not being pounced on for the purpose of fulfilling sales targets and ultimately satisfying corporate shareholders.''
Are companies conducting lazy research on the list of modern annoyances too?
Other things that made the list included having to stand on the train when you've paid a lot for a ticket, leaving a tissue in the washing and forgetting to put the bins out. Feel free to put your own in the comments.

1. Pressure selling
2. Spam emails
