LivingSocial - 'temporary glitch' caused Christmas tree trouble

3 December 2010

Yesterday we told you about daily deal site LivingSocial, and a deal offered on Wednesday. London-based customers of the site could pay £20 in return for a £40 discount on trees from The London Christmas Tree Company. However, a Bitterwallet reader pointed out that prices on the The London Christmas Tree website all jumped by £20 before the deal went live.

Peter Briffett, the UK managing director of LivingSocial has been in touch with Bitterwallet with the following statement:

‘At LivingSocial we always give true and fair deals - our customers expect this every day and the businesses we partner with are under contractual obligation to provide goods and services at the agreed deal prices. Our Christmas Tree offer was a great deal and continues to be so - there was a temporary glitch but this has been resolved; purchasers of the deal who were charged the incorrect price should contact LivingSocial.’
