Amazon to slash Prime by £20 in readiness for Black Friday

Amazon have confirmed that from Sunday 15th November until Wednesday 18th November they'll be knocking £20 off of the price of Amazon Prime bringing this down to £59 for the year. Not sure if Prime is right for you? Here is a quick recap of the benefits:

Unlimited Next Day Delivery on millions of items - if you're particularly desperate for an item or you've left it to the last minute to buy a present, this Next Day Delivery (if it isn't coming via Yodel) is a godsend. If Next Day Delivery is £7.99, you've only got to place 8 orders to make the most of your delivery benefit without taking in to account the other perks.

Early access to Lightning Deals and Black Friday - with Black Friday coming up, Prime members will be eligible for gaining early access to the best deals Amazon have to offer with up to 30 minutes free dibs where available.

Prime Music - get access to over a million songs and hundreds of playlists all ad-free. Music can be accessed via a range of devices so if you're paying £9.99 a month (or students at £4.99) then you'll notice the savings right away with Prime Music.

Prime Video - with Prime Video you can watch thousands of movies and TV shows at no additional cost as part of your Prime package. Top Gear fan? Amazon signed Clarkson and his mates for 36 episodes in a deal reportedly worth around £160m.

Other perks include unlimited photo storage plus bookworms can enjoy 500,000 ebooks at no additional cost.

If you're doing the maths and Prime sounds right for you, wait until Sunday before signing up to save yourself £20.

    Beware that more often than not they will fail to deliver next day, especially when Amazon Logistics couriers are used. And I've also discovered a number of them will expect you to be available to receive the parcel at silly hours like 9pm. My last 'next day' item is 5 days late and counting.....
