RBS have second 'technical problem' that leaves customers out of pocket
RBS, the most hated organisation in the universe, are at it again with another computer fault, leaving them apologising as customers found that they were unable to access accounts or get any money out.
It all started last night around 10pm when customers reported problems with online banking, cash withdrawals and debit card payments and naturally, they went straight to Twitter to vent some spleen.
The ire was justified because RBS (and their NatWest and the Ulster Bank wings) didn't feel it necessary to mention the fault, let alone apologise for it. Some customers found that they were still unable to get to their pennies this morning, which echoes the problems last summer when millions were hit by RBS problems.
Forced into something of an apology, a spokesperson for RBS said: "We are disappointed that our customers have faced disruption to banking services for a period this evening, and apologise for that. All services are now running as normal again."
They then added that any customers who were still having difficulties should contact customer services, which underlines that 'all services' aren't 'running as normal' at all. RBS didn't want to give out details of the reasons for this failure.
