WeBuyAnyCar.com - the sound of your TV puking

5 January 2010

Quite why it has taken me months to set about the woeful WeBuyAnyCar.com TV commercial is beyond me. Maybe it's because the first time I saw it, I tried to end my own life by pouring strychnine down my throat and cutting my eyes out with nail clippers.

Clearly, this dross has achieved its primary objective, which is to be post-modern and burrow a way into my psyche via annoyance (see also: those godforsaken GoCompare ads). So yes. Very clever. Coupling something as dreary as car vending with the kind of rave music you hear coming out of cars driven by little shitehawks who pay huge dividends on their insurance before burning in oily flames in accident blackspots, only to be later described as an angel by a grieving mother.

As you can see, this commercial has made me unnaturally angry.

Will you buy this stolen car?

Its the brainchild of carcraft, well known for ripping you off and taking advantage by giving extortionate credit to those who can't afford it. fuck the US housing market i blame them for the current funk. like it or loathe it, as far as genius advertising goes it does its job.

Ah Thank God i'm not alone.......I would also add (in no particular order of annoyance) Any Go Compare Advert That hideous 'Here come the girls Italian restaurant one (if i was enjoying a quiet diner with my wife when those bimbos moved in....) Any of the Injury Shysters for you Any of the 'spare gold' hanging around your house rubbish ....oh and while i'm on am I alone in eagerly awaiting the next JML wonder (after the Magic Tablecloth)?....the Magic Carpet?

"...don't part ex, you MAY get a better deal when you buy next..." I'm sure in the original advert they say "you'll get a better deal when you buy next..." - maybe they have had some legal issues?

Still chortling over with the kind of rave music you hear coming out of cars driven by little shitehawks who pay huge dividends on their insurance before burning in oily flames in accident blackspots, only to be later described as an angel by a grieving mother. Started sniggering again as I read this.

Brian here. First time i've seen the video for this advert (heard the wireless adverts), and it looks good to me.

You'd easily be mistaken for thinking the advert above was one of the challenges set by Alan Sugar for the Apprentices.

I am not going to watch the ad. I hate these bastards. Give you a fair price on the online quote, make you come down to them only to invent problems and offer you half what they quoted and then bombard you with emails over their special offers. Carcraft can go fuck themselves.
  • Fella-Tio
@ MM...agreed, dodgy company. My 2nd car was from them lovely car, great condition... they neglected to tell me it was clocked by 100K+ miles and had faked service history
  • James
    @ Fella-Tio I bet it wasn't cheap either.
  • Pokey
It's not as good as their original advert which reminded me of old classic video game Frogger. Thankfully Sky+ means this advert and all others are usually over within half a second.

Hmmm..........rip off James, quick valet & cloc.......sorry, check mileometer, rip off Fella-tio. Seems like a good plan.............not!!!
  • Guess B.
[...] seen the annoying advert for WeBuyAnyCar.com right? Like the company name suggests, they will take any car off your hands “from fifty quid [...]
  • The B.
Brian Here. Would they buy a car internally smothered with chicken shit?

Brian Here. If not, anyone else interested?
