Commercial Break: Game store unfavourably compared to a kick in the swingers
There needs to be a change in the rules about advertising in the UK. We’ve seen adverts where rival brands are namechecked and slyly criticised, but it isn’t enough. We need all-out warfare.
Here’s a fine example from the US of America, where Glyde.com have ripped into their competitor GameStop with aplomb. Let’s bring the same idea over here – imagine a Morrisons ad where Freddie Flintoff tars and feathers a Tesco employee, as Antony Worrall Thompson skips about in the background, gleefully laughing like the maniac that he definitely isn’t.
