Commercial Break: England Hero Bigs Up The Boozer

Back in the late 1960’s there was one Englishman who stood for honesty and integrity above all others – World Cup winner Bobby Moore.

Fittingly, Bobby got the job of bigging up Britain’s pubs with this ‘Look In At The Local’ campaign, aided and abetted by Martin Peters and their lovely wives.

Of course, nowadays, footballers only frequent the VIP areas of the most exclusive of superclubs, and a night is rarely complete without the commission of at least two criminal offences. Ah well, things ain’t what they used to be. We're not sure what the 2008 slogan would be but "You Probably Won't Get Stabbed" would be a start...
