Xbox 720: Kinect 2.0 and TV recorder

xbox Xbox 720: Kinect 2.0 and TV recorderThe Xbox 720 is going to be a fancy piece of kit and will come with a new version of Kinect, a Blu-ray drive and an A/V port for watching and recording TV, according to various rumours.

So what is Kinect 2.0? Basically, the next-gen device will have better voice recognition, higher accuracy, stereo imaging and the ability to track four players at the same time (if you believe the leaked Microsoft document that has been floating around).

As for the Blu-ray drive, you’ll know what that is.

However, what is pretty exciting is the TV input/output, designed for recording telly shows and an “innovative controller” which has been rumoured to feature a built-in HD touch screen.

There are also rumours about augmented reality glasses for the 720 too, which is massive, if unlikely, news.

    I will not buy anything Microsoft after they caused me pain and anguish. Why do people still insist on using IE6!?

    I think you will find they will see how big a fail the Wii U is and not bother with that innovative controller!

    @Darrean and @amazon zombie

    I think we’ll see. Everyone is banging on about the “Second screen” media at the moment…Smartglass on my Phone and Nexus 7 are a wonderful addition to the xbox, even just using it as a remote. The new functionality it can bring knows no bounds.

    Also, the second screen is to complement our fuck-off big TVs, not replace them.

    “I will not buy anything Microsoft after they caused me pain and anguish. Why do people still insist on using IE6!?”

    Because they have systems that are only supported on IE6, that’s not Microsoft’s fault.

    Let’s hope they stick the bloody things together with real solder this time around, instead of that lead free crap.
