For starters, there’s Jane (below, right), a respectable 36-year old mother who discovered a hidden talent as a cat burglar and launched a secret career flogging stolen antiques across the north of England.

f4064009 b1ed b96b 1ccf5eeafe2cc59d 300x270 White Collar Crimewave Exposed On TV TonightThen there’s Graham, a former branch manager of the Halifax in South Wales. He persuaded customers to plough their cash into bogus investment schemes before plunging his ill-gotten proceeds into the mug’s world of gambling. Nicking from the branch safe was Graham’s next move and he was only rumbled when internal auditors found an IOU that read ‘I, Graham Price, borrowed £7 million from the Halifax’.

There’ll be plenty more of that sort of thing along with lashings of ITV-style sensationalism and out-and-out bullshit, but it should make for a fascinating and diverting hour and might give one or two of you some ideas for getting out of the bite-sized crunch hole that you’re in.

Just don’t blame us when you’re sharing a 12×12 foot cell with incarcerated pop whale Boy George.

Graham Price is a dick. He should have put the deputy branch manager’s name.

More like 56!! If she’s 36 then that’s some fantastic disguise.

It seems she started stealing when she was 36, not that she is 36.

And her collar is clearly blue unless the colours on my monitor are completely screwed.

Do people watch ITV? Maybe it’s all the people who watch Big Brother filling in the gaps in their empty lives.

I don’t know whose line “a look at the growing trend of middle class crime in these financially crippling times” is but, these two crimes were started during the boom years. (when ever they were) Yet another Tv show where unrelated items are forced together under one headline. Bring back Duty Free!

36? She should be done for fraud as well as burglary.

Just want to point out a typo in your post, Andy. You put ‘ITV1′ and ’surefire entretainment’ in the same sentence without including the words ‘are utterly unable to provide’ in between.

Just don’t do it again, ok?

Two words Ben – TV Burp.

Apart from that you’re right of course. I need to develop a way of signifying whenever I’m writing with my tongue planted in my cheek.

That’s right TV Burp will be the saviour of ITV, Mr Hill, we salute thee!
