The BBC Experiment: Effect of Alcohol On Your Waistline this Christmas

By Vince Wong

The BBC Experiment: Effect of Alcohol On Your Waistline this ChristmasHo ho ho! Fancy being a scrooge to make people feel bad this Christmas? Send them a link to the BBC’s "Alcohol Experiment" to give a rough idea of the junk food equivalent to the liquid calories gulped up on your last night out, and the effect it would have on your fat to muscle ratio.

It appears that my 800 calories last night work out to the equivalent of a donut, a hotdog, an onion bhaji, and a Danish pastry. Yummy. The Flash widget may not be entirely accurate in comparing your alcohol intake to junk food, but does unfortunately act as a bitter reminder to the empty calories.

A gin and tonic is equivalent to a jaffa cake and a dog turd.
