15547716 300x168 Reebok Classics the trainer of choice for burglarsIf you’re sitting reading this with a pair of Reebok Classic trainers on your feet, we imagine you’re not too far away from a hooped jersey, a facemask and a swag bag, readying yourself for a good old burgling session in a bit.

Or at least that’s the lazy conclusion that we’ve drawn from a piece of research that we’ve half-read on this slow, sluggish Saturday. Apparently, more than one in two housebreakers (pictured right) favour the Reebok Classic (pictured left) over any other type of footwear, according to researchers at the University Of Leicester

The findings did not determine whether or not the burglars had paid for the trainers or just nicked them. Hmmm…

If you’re not a burglar and you’re sitting reading this with a pair of Reebok Classic trainers on your feet, your footprints are all over crime scenes across the country and there’ll probably be a constable knocking on your door at some point in the near future.

If you work in Reebok’s PR department – not the best piece of research you’ve ever read is it?

    No, they are pikeys and chavs and the their foot-ware of choice is the Reebok Classic.
