Tayto develop chocolate bar that tastes like cheese and onion crisps

8 May 2013

Everyone knows that Tayto make the best cheese and onion crisps over at Tayto Castle in Ireland. They also invented the flavoured crisp, which fewer people know.

Now, the crisp vendor has developed something a little more peculiar - a cheese and onion crisps chocolate bar.

The company made a limited run of 100,000, which sold out very quickly and drove everyone wild online, which means they might start mass-producing the strange snack.

CEO of Taste Ireland, Eamon Eastwood, said that the bars are "unusual" and described it as "crunchy chocolate and then a lingering taste of cheese of onion".

Eastwood told The Herald Sun: "I couldn't believe the reaction. It went off the Richter scale with almost half a million impressions."

Tayto Castle is in Tandragee Northern Ireland,UK. Tayto in Ireland are different crisps and produced in a different factory located in Largo,Co.Meath (I think) This Choc is produced by Tayto IE so may not be the same Cheese and Onion you used to getting UK sourced. "Tayto Castle in the Ulster countryside is where the terrific Tayto crisps are made. The castle is over 500 years old and was originally the home of the O’Hanlon clan, one of the mightiest and most powerful clans in all of Ireland"

Didn't think they had enough spuds to go around as it was. Maybe chewbacca can eat them in his Celtic top! C'mon the hoops!

Well they aren't that mighty or powerful if they don't own it any more.
