Cardiff has the politest drivers in the UK

27 August 2013

Old-Man-Driving Who has the most polite drivers in the UK? Well, if you're able to read a headline, you'll already know that the answer is Cardiff, according to a new survey.

Cardiff topped the survey for driver behaviour and scored 97% for politeness with Birmingham and Sheffield in second and Coventry and Glasgow completing the top five.

Factors taken into account were a driver's likeliness to thank other drivers, stop for pedestrians at crossings and giving way at junctions.

The worst drivers were found in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, with Leeds, Manchester and Edinburgh also scoring low because they're all filled with impotent rage and the men have small penises.

With that, the survey found that woman drivers were more polite than their male counterparts and, unsurprisingly, drivers of small and medium cars were much better behaved than van drivers.

Here's the league table:

1. Cardiff
2. Birmingham
3. Sheffield
4. Coventry
5. Glasgow
6. Nottingham
7. Bradford
8. Leicester
9. Liverpool
10. London
11. Bristol
12. Leeds
12. Manchester
12. Edinburgh
13. Newcastle

God, which company's press release is this from? It's one of those surveys where you can decide any factor you wanted and you'd get a list. Which drivers get the most shags per week? You'll end with some town at the top and another at the bottom, but it doesn't mean you're going to get laid every night in Cleethorpes.

    Politest? Really?

Coventry!!?? You take your life in your hands every time you enter the ring road system!!!

Captain C, evidently you're one of those 'shit-out' drivers who is scared of decision-making. (Middle lane on the motorway the whole way for 'safety'?) The ring road, whilst a bit cramped, is one of the most efficient means of getting around a city I have ever come across in this country. Have you been around Derby, or Sheffield,or Newcastle???? On the point of politest however, I'm not sure that it merits a fourth place. Although, I will accept that it's nice for the city to be in the top ten of something other than a list of shite towns populated in the majority by Sports Direct zombies.

@SISU Out. Have you seen Spencer's posts on why it's okay to hog the middle lane? Economy and wear & tear - no mention of safety though.

The answers are:- 1/ No 2/ Yes And the survey is about polite drivers, not the design of the road layout, perhaps you need to learn to read a bit better. (I drove the college minibus from Evesham college to Coventry Uni every Thursday for 6 months because I was the only student BRAVE ENOUGH)

anyone who thinks women are the most polite drivers are seriously fucking stupid. 99% of ignorance i suffer on the road comes from bitches who haven't got a clue. They block every junction and never let you out. too busy swishing their hair in the rear view mirror.
