Leeds man aghast at his five-figure gas bill

To be honest, we don’t know too much about Atlantic Electric and Gas – apparently they’re part of Scottish and Southern Energy, and the UK’s largest generator of renewable electricity. Nope, still haven’t heard of them, which is why we’d check twice before swapping our utilities to them, especially after the gas bill that Bitterwallet reader Karl received for last month:

Bloody hell. We checked and confirmed Karl didn’t offer to pay the gas bill for the whole of Armley. “Obviously they wouldn’t be aware I suffer high stress,” Karl told us. Yes, so would we if Atlantic pushed that beast through our letterbox.

I had this about 3 months ago from Scottish and Southern, they read my meter and sent me a bill for £2,500 odd for a month, I reckon the indexes on their database keep corrupting and the pk/fk relationship are pointing at the wrong meter readings.

@ junkyard – Doesnt matter about how they calculated my charges as when i called them to query it and gave them an upto date reading they realised i owed them a lot less…and i mean a damn sight less.

thankfully it didnt take long for me to get it sorted (10min phone call) but it was shocking to say the least.
