Last week we told you how big brands are already preparing for Easter, a fortnight before Christmas. Many claim it is yet more distressing evidence of the commercialisation of sacred and blessed events on the Christian calendar, but at least we’re beating the US on that score – they’re only getting round to promoting Valentine’s Day, the slow coaches! Those Yankee Doodles are so far behind it’s embarrassing:
