Deathwatch! Rangers and Pompey to into administration

The news is just breaking, so there’s not much to go on, but (Glasgow) Rangers and Portsmouth have just declared that they’re going into administration.
The ‘Gers news has just been broken at STV, and could now be facing a deduction of 10 points. The club have lodged an intention to go into administration with the Court of Session. They now have five days in which to formally declare administrators have taken over the running of the club.
The Ibrox outfit are now awaiting the result of a £49m tax case with HM Revenue and Customs in relation to the club’s use of the Employee Benefits Trust to pay players and staff.
More news on Pompey when we get it.
I hope they let Pompey go out of business completely. Previous owners bought the FA Cup with money they did not have. The current owner is just as shady.
And don’t believe the fans crying abut the loss of quality football – they can support Southampton instead.

@Capability Braun – Airdrieonians went bust around 10 years ago. They were a stalwart of the Scottish Premiership for most of the 80s and 90s. Also, Rushden and Diamonds (previously in the league below Portsmouth) went bust last year.

Some business guys in Glasgow are thinking of trying to buy out White for his orginal purchase price £1 and then pay off the HMRC they only need 1Million people to pay £75 each to do it then the fans will have control of RFC, there is also a website trying to save rangers. I found one at http://www.save-glasgow-rangers.com , but were has all the money gone from rangers that has been collected in side white took over.
