British Airways to cut hundreds of jobs

British Airways 857 19385812 0 0 4005 300 British Airways to cut hundreds of jobsThings obviously aren’t going well for British Airways, as they’re entering talks with a union which will inevitably see 400 cabin crew jobs getting the axe.

BA are starting a 90-day consultation with Unite, looking at people to take voluntary redundancy, underlining that there won’t be any compulsory job losses.

We’ll see.

Those facing the chop will be senior cabin crew employees, who won’t be happy as this is the latest trouble BA have had with cabin crew. Last year, there was a bitter dispute over working conditions which resulted in a strike.

And BA owners IAG are now locked in a row with Iberia staff over potential job losses.

Things are not looking good in the airline sector.
